He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy James and Mary Louise Birdsell (Rollins); his son William "Billy" Birdsell; and his siblings, William Birdsell, Mike Birdsell, Barbara Maxwell, Larry and Mary.

He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Lee Scott of Pekin; his granddaughter Kayla Scott of Pekin; and his sisters, Judy Anderson of Missouri and Bonita Swan of Missouri.

Memorial may be made to the Pekin First Church of God, 2520 Maywood Ave, Pekin, Illinois 61554.
