It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold D. Scherer of Pekin, Illinois, born in Slater, Missouri, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Scherer and Rena Scherer (Fizer); his siblings, William (Patricia), Robert Scherer (Virgie), Darlene Pina (Al) and Mildred Sharp Harris; and his brother-in-law Jim Coleman.
He is survived by: his children, William Scherer (Susan) of Kennesaw, GA, Margaret Segersten (Jim) of Dahinda, IL, John Scherer (Nicole) of Fishers, IN and Paul Scherer (Jennifer) of Pekin, IL; his grandchildren, William Scherer II (Eryn), Shamus Segersten, Marisa Scherer, Hannah Folgert (Benjamin), Alexander Scherer, Jacob Scherer and Olivia Scherer; his stepchildren, Chris Sondgeroth of Metamora, IL and Michelle Cook (Mark) of Pekin; his stepgrandchildren, Braden Fogal (Megan) and Baylee Weidrick (Bryce); and his siblings, Herb Scherer (Ruth) of Marshall, MO and Shirley Coleman (Jay Harris) of Oak Grove, MO.
