It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Nienhuis of Pearl City, Illinois, born in Oak Park, Illinois, who passed away on June 29, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob A. Nienhuis and Vera E. Nienhuis (Wilcox); his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Arlene; and his son-in-law Kevin Konkel.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Roddewig of Pearl City, IL; his children, Annette Happ (Peter) of Stockton, IL, Leanne Konkel Briggs (Jon) of Orangeville, IL, David Nienhuis (Wendy) of Forreston, IL and Donna Hillman (Steve) of Mt. Morris, IL; his brothers, Earl Nienhuis of Palos Heights, IL and Karl Nienhuis (Susan) of Beaver Dam, WI; his sister-in-law Joyce Nienhuis of Freeport, IL; and his grandchildren, Jon Hillman, Bradley Happ (Mariel), Heidi Ditzler (Adam) and Faun Manthei (Lincoln). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
