He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Martin Eugene Gardner and Frances Mae Johnson Gardner; his wife Laurie J. Persons; his daughter Lucie Mills (James) of Paxton; his grandchildren, Marinna Taylor (Jon), Bryce Ogburn, Gavin Ogburn, Taylor Hamblin (Nolan), Aaron Gardner, Alice Mills, Amelia Mills, Christopher Ogburn and Damion Cooley; his great grandchildren, Jacob Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Miranda Taylor and Aiden Jimenez; his siblings, Linda Case (Lloyd) of Kentucky, Tim Gardner (Pam) of Gibson City, Greg Gardner (Peg) of Danvers, Pat Gardner of Nebraska and Sean Gardner (Sherri) of Gibson City; his son Marty; and his brother Geary.
