He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil E. Bowen Sr. and Lula H. Brewer Bowen; his son Jeffrey W. Bowen; and his siblings, James Bowen, Elizabeth Mae "Sue" Gilmore, Edith M. "Monnie" Deavult and Shirley I. Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Bowen of Pawnee; his sons, Edward L. Bowen of Springfield and Timothy A. Bowen of Pawnee; and his siblings, Walter O. Bowen (Susan) of Bakersfield, California and Carolyn Alspaugh (Jack) of Pawnee. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
