He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary "Joe" Wheatland and Barbara Wheatland (Scherer). He is survived by: his brothers, Martin (Julie Mucci) and Richard (Shelley Zaccagnini); his nephews, Casey Wheatland and Joseph Wheatland; and his niece Ellen Wheatland.

Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy or Friendship House.
