He was predeceased by: his parents, Karoly Kovacs and Erzsébet Kovacs (Boda); and his siblings, János, Lajos, József, Béla, Terez, Anna and Erzsébet.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Szechényi; his children, Agnes Swan (Matt) of Amboy, Emmy "Amy" Howe of Largo, FL, Esther Kovacs of Aurora and Ernest Kovacs (Vicky) of Serena; his grandchildren, Alexis, Kevin Ware, Harley and Lance Kovacs; and his sisters, Gizi Lajvort and Rozsi Légrádi.
