It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Hinman of Ottawa, Illinois, born in Du Quoin, Illinois, who passed away on June 4, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hinman and Mary Hinman; his brother Max Hinman; and his grandsons, Demetrius Williams II and Tyler Arnett.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hinman; his children, Nathan Hinman, Adam Arnett (Clair), Rebecca Hinman (Runt) and Tanya Arnett (Bill); his grandchildren, Cody Arnett, Levi Arnett (Lexi), James Hinman, Demetrius Williams III, Brianne Arnett, Kurstin Wilson, Maddie Wilson (Darnell), Liam Ellison, Stella Ellison, Karter Carlson, Charlotte Carlson, Lilith Hinman and Raven Arnett; and his siblings, Marvin Hinman (Marcy), Mark Hinman (Patty), Ray Hinman (Tracy), Zoellen Smith (Tom), Mildred Gort and Martha Hauck.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sheridan American Legion.
