With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn Jakubek Zabawa (Ottawa, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 23, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Schiffgens and Marie Schiffgens; her grandparents, Heini and Marie; her former husband Walter; her siblings, Alice Pitstick (Vince) and Ralph Schiffgens (Dorothy); and her sister-in-law Marie Schiffgens.
She is survived by: her husband Peter; her children, David Jakubek of Ottawa, Donald Jakubek (Mary) of Northbrook, IL, Daniel Jakubek (Beverly) of Pasco, WA, Diann Anderson (Stephen) of Loveland, CO and Dori Weigel (Norman) of Kennewick, WA; and her brothers, Tom Schiffgens (Mary) of Maryland and George Schiffgens of Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
