We are sad to announce that on July 15, 2024, at the age of 93, Clarice (Johnson) Abernathy of Ottawa, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Johnson and Thelma Johnson; her husbands, Ralph "Pete" Erickson and Donald Abernathy; her son Randy Erickson; her grandchildren, Corby Herzog and Jeremy Abernathy; and her great grandchild Carsen Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Erickson (Carliss) of Boulder, CO, Joanne Johnson of Sycamore and Jene' Pitsenbarger (Jerry) of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Rebeccah McIntosh (Ryan), Callie Johnson (José Bonilla), Donald Johnson (Daphne Vassmer), Shannon Smith, Lindsey McFadden (Chris) and Jared Pitsenbarger; her great grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter Smith, Morgan Hecht, Brooks McIntosh and Brennon McFadden; her grandchildren, Kim Diss, Kelly Shymanski, Jeffrey Shields, Zach Abernathy and Jordy Abernathy (Jenny); her great grandchildren, Eli Diss, Garrett Shymanski, Mia Abernathy, Jeremiah Abernathy, Jack Abernathy and Summer Hoagland Abernathy; and her friend Jean Reuther.
In lieu of flowers the family would like all memorials to be directed to Northern Illinois Hospice or Kapper Adult Day Service.
