He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Schmitz and Thelma Schmitz; and his brothers, Bud, Joe and Larry.
He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Jennifer Sperandeo (Joe), Thomas John Schmitz Jr. and Julie DiMare (Todd); his grandchildren, Matthew (Kyrie), Timothy, Alison, Ashley Sanders and Gia DiMare; and his siblings, Sharon Schmitz, Tim and Jim Schmitz.
