He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Rueb and Jacqueline Rueb; and his sister Peggy McLennan. He is survived by: his children, Colin, Megan and Shannon; his daughter-in-law Julie Rueb; his grandson Nathaniel; his former wife Janet Rueb; his significant other Laura Bresnik; and his sister Linda DeLisle (Henry). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the ALS Association in memory of Brian, and his late sister, Peggy, who also lost her battle with ALS in 2011.
