She was predeceased by: her husbands, Henry Wofford and Ray Evans; her parents, Matthew Thomas and Georgia Thomas; and her sibling LaVonzell Gant.
She is survived by: her children, Janorise Robinson (Michael) and Kanika Evans; her grandsons, Isaiah Heard, Emmanuel Robinson and Caleb Robinson; and her siblings, Gail Wess, Brenda Thomas, Matthew Thomas Jr., Michael Thomas, Jaqueline Harris, Jeanne Thomas, Elaine Thomas and Stanley Thomas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Literacy Chicago, DuSable Museum, or Alzheimer's Association.
