He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabel Castner and Gordon Castner; his wife Donna Castner; his sister Marie Carlson; his great-nephew Jeff Carlson; and his great-niece Kayla Gist.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, David Carlson, Paul Carlson, Pamela Carlson, Denise Follett and Roschell Landsverk. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
