He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Henrietta J. Speelman; his children, Beverly Speelman, Joanne Ridderbos (Ron), Ken Speelman (Deanne) and Bob Speelman; his grandchildren, Tim Ridderbos (Melissa), Jill Fager (Daniel), Tara Speelman, Jenna Speelman and Paige Simmons (Tommy); his great grandchildren, Noel, Eli and William; his siblings, Jeanette Visser (Elias), Robert Speelman (Barbara) and Richard Speelman (late Margaret); and his brother-in-law William Bruinius (Martha). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Southwest Chicago Christian Schools, 12001 S. Oak Park Avenue.
