He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vernon and Evalyn Ethington (Gibson); his wife Mary Mae Creekmur; his brother Richard Ethington; his granddaughter Amberlyn Humes; and his brothers-in-law, James Mahlmeister and Art Haley.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Ethington of Toledo, IL, Tonya Fowler (Richard) of Oakland, IL, Todd Ethington (Kimberly) of Oakland, IL and Toby Ethington of Normal, IL; his siblings, James Ethington (Sandy) of New Iberia, LA, Ferrand Ethington (Gladys) of Iron Mountain, MI, Robert Ethington (Anne) of Rhinelander, WI, Teri Haley of Amarillo, TX and Grace Mahlmeister of Mattoon, IL; his grandchildren, Aiden, Dustin, Matthew, Lawrence, Ryan, Danielle, Eleni, Seth, Jayden and Brittany; and his sister-in-law Terri Paige of Wausau, WI.. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
