She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Vaupel and Coralee Vaupel (Funkhouser); her former husband Donald R. Young; her grandson Michael Thompson; and her siblings, Elouise Vaupel, Luther Vaupel and Lloyd Vaupel.
She is survived by: her husband James Buttry of Norris City, IL; her daughters, Patti Kethmark (Greg) of Urbana, IL, Vicki Whiltington (Jeff) of Windsor, IL and Connie Stirling (Gordon) of Wentzville, MO; her grandchildren, Michelle Thompson, Jennifer Brehm, Danielle Runyon, Rachel Stirling, Eddie Durham and Kyle Stirling; and her siblings, Anna Dennis of Carmi, IL, Madeline Lamp of Carmi, IL and Lowell Vaupel of Carmi, IL. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary Helen's memory to White County Senior Citizens Center, and will accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
