With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gilbert Wessel (Norris City, Illinois), born in Evansville, Indiana, who passed away on April 22, 2022 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wessel and Madaline Wessel (McCarthy); his wife Dorothy L. Felty; his children, Larry Keith Wessel and Janice Dale; and his brother Delano Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Velva Wessel of Mooresville, NC and Darrell Nelson of Carmi, IL; and his brother Cyril Yates of Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi American Legion Post #224 or the Carmi VFW Post #3851 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
