It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David William Knowles of Nauvoo, Illinois, born in Keokuk, Iowa, who passed away on July 30, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David O. Knowles and Martha Knowles (Daggs); his wife Margaret Ann; his sisters, Ruth Seyb and Helen Stephens; his great grandchild Jackson Knowles Brown; and his son-in-law Dennis Hamma.
He is survived by: his children, David Knowles of San Marcos, Richard Knowles (Nancy) of Mackinaw, Douglas Knowles (Pam) of Nauvoo and Jane Hamma of Nauvoo, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Ann Frugoni (James), Mary Claire Knowles (Becky), Amanda Brock (Jeff), Sarah Brackney (Rob Kennedy), Luke Brackney, Leslie Brown (Justin), Andy Knowles (Courtney), Bill Knowles (Cicily), John Knowles (Kendra), Tim Hamma (Val) and Justin Hamma (Patty); and his great grandchildren, Kyle, Taylor Frugoni, Jett, Sully Knowles, Emily, Casey, Lindsey Brock, Mattie Bryant, Lyda Kennedy, Grace Margaret Ann, Gardner, Bella, Ivy Brown, Marley, Colton Knowles, Aadyn, Adelyn Knowles, Cooper, Millie Knowles, Abigail and Natalie Hamma. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nauvoo EMS and Keokuk American Legion. Contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
