He was predeceased by: his daughter Jody Ashby; his sister Karen Ashby; and his stepson Michael Greenwood. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Jamie Rushing (James) of Mount Vernon, Jennifer Clevenger (Ray) of Creal Springs, Robert Thomas of Mount Vernon, David Smith of Mount Vernon, Jeremy Smith of Mount Vernon and Chris Parr (Brooke) of Belleville; and his stepgrandchildren, Darion Thomas, Colton Thomas, Bobbi Thomas, Jennifer Thomas, Alanah Chelf, Chase Rushing, Katy Rushing, Kaloe Rushing, Michalee Clevenger, Wyatt Clevenger and Braden Rinehart.
