He was predeceased by: his daughter Tracey Brewer; his stepchildren, Bill Horsley (Margie), Thomas Long and Betty King (Bill); and his brother Roy Smothers.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Smith (James) of Lawrenceville; his siblings, Dean Wigand, Betty Dove and Roland Smothers (Martha) of Florida; his children-in-law, Randall Brewer of Minnesota and Rachel Long of Mount Vernon; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Smothers and Dian Smothers; and his grandchildren, Sheila Scherer Guzman, Jared Smith, Benjamin Smith, Jason Smith, Randall Brewer, Billy Tom King, Ronda McDowell, Melody Wilson, Rodney King and Dwayne Long. He is also survived by one great-grandchild; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
