She was predeceased by: her parents, Clive F. Hartley and Irene Hartley (Metcalf); her husband Elmer B. Slater, Jr.; her sister Marjorie Williams; her brother-in-law Max Williams; and her nephew Dale Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Slater (Pam MacPhee) and Karen Pennington (Paul); her grandchildren, Scott Pennington (Amanda) and Lisa Harrington (Tracy); her great grandchildren, Brittney, Caitlin and Austin Pennington; and her nephew Alan Williams (Kathy).
Memorials may be made in Doris' honor to Waltonville Fire Department or Knob Prairie Cemetery.
