He was predeceased by: his son Ricky Capps; and his siblings, Omar Kniffen, Ed Capps, Richard Capps, Evelyn Randall, Gwen Quinn, Wanda Capps and Lena Mae Dunavan.
He is survived by: his significant other Evelyn Nordin of Mount Vernon; his daughters, Cheri Ann Conaway (Scott) of Tipton and Sandy L. Edmison (Gary Duncan) of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Ryan Conaway of Tipton, Matthew Langa (Chelsi) of Woodlawn and Sara Crawford (Daniel Nashville); his great grandchildren, Kyle Conaway, Bryan Conaway, Jayce Conaway, Cheston Langa, Taylen Langa and Leland Wideman; his sister Eva Davenport of DeKalb; his sister-in-law Pansy Capps of Mount Vernon; and also, Ann Sinks (Bob), Shorty and Rockford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
