She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Louis Edel and Vera Waltemeyer Edel; her husband Jay J. Murphy; her brother James Edel; her son-in-law Harold "Bud" Jenkins; her children, Matthew Murphy of Dallas, Brian Murphy of Morton and Molly Murphy of Morton; and her grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Murphy, Kaleigh Robertson (Sean) and Janelle Anderson (Zachary Strittmatter).

Memorials may be made to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or All Saints Episcopal Church in Morton.
