It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jeannette A. Smith of Morton, Illinois, born in East Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on March 11, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Irvin Donath and Elizabeth Donath (Kuhar); her husband Edward "Pete" Smith of Morton; her children, Michael Smith (Barb) of Morton, Cindy James (Greg) of Dunlap and Susan Irwin of Morton; and her brother Jerry Donath (Rita) of East Peoria. She was also cherished by 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
She served as director of the Center over 35 years as a volunteer until the Center closed during the Covid Crisis.
