She was predeceased by: her parents, C. Raymond Johnson and Ardis Johnson; her husband Bill Widener; and her sister Janice Green. She is survived by: her sister Nancy Lorine of Decatur, AL; her daughters, Ann Largent (Cory) of Orchard City, CO, Amy Heinicke (Paul) of Tanunda and Jennifer of San Francisco, CA; her grandsons, Ryan Largent, Drew and Sam Heinicke; and her caregiver Lisa. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Moline Public Library or Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.
