He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver David and Anna Elizabeth Shubert (Smith); his brother Dave Shubert; and his sister-in-law Sherry Shubert. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Shubert of Elkton, IL; his children, Scott Shubert of Coulterville, IL, Marissa Mattingly (Kevin) of Addieville, IL and Elizabeth Heiken (Christopher) of Texico, IL; his siblings, Doug Shubert of Elkton, IL, Deanna Hacker of Belleville, IL, Karl Shubert of Elkton, IL, Randy Shubert (Paulette) of Marissa, IL, Andrea Gehrer of Elkton, IL, Jay Shubert (Monica) of Nashville, IL and Marshall Shubert of Elkton, IL; his sister-in-law Dulce Shubert of Kemmerer, WY; his grandchildren, Michael Shubert, Ashley Shubert, Chase Mattingly, Eric Mattingly, Marissa Shubert, Annelise Shubert, Kaylee Mattingly, Alexander Shubert, Matthew Heiken and Aubree Heiken; and his great grandchild Thomas O'Steen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus attendance will be limited, social distancing will be enforced and attendees are asked to wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
