He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vasilopolis and Shirley Vasilopolis (Peterlin); and his siblings, Georgia Bima, George "Ronald" Basil and Daniel "Buba" Basil.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mathesius of Mendota; his children, Brian Basil of Mendota and Michelle Hartford of LaMoille; his grandchildren, Madison O'Sadnick (Austin), Chase Billhorn, Reis Hartford and Carsyn Hartford; his brother Dennis Basil (Tracy) of Oglesby; his brother-in-law Jerry Bima of Oglesby; his aunt Jackie Peterlin of Oglesby; and his uncle Gary Peterlin (Lana) of Oglesby.
Memorials may be directed to Mendota Fire and Ambulance, Mendota Lions Club or a favorite animal shelter of the donor's choice.
