He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ross Rod and Patricia Rod (Whitmore). He is survived by: his children, Timothy Rod (Claudia) of Springfield, Elizabeth Rod of Dallas, TX and James Rod of Lafayette, LA; and his sister Deb Koscielny (Michael) of Cary.
