She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Lukas and Marie Lukas (Younkus); her former husband Martin Grzesiak; her daughter Martha Grzesiak; and her aunt Patricia Guzik.
She is survived by: her children, Andrew Grzesiak (Iryna) of Elmwood Park, Connie Wakefield (John) of Oakland, Lewis Grzesiak of Alsip and Stanley Grzesiak of Georgia; her husband John Ellis of Mendota; her grandchildren, Melissa Grzesiak, Matthew Grzesiak, Matthew Wakefield, James Wakefield, Megan Quarles, Danielle Quarles, James Quarles, Bogdan Brezden and Olha Brezden; and her great grandchildren, Chris Trinidad, Oliver Nott and Parker Grzesiak.
In lieu of flowers, Karen's wishes were to consider making a donation to Graves-Hume Public Library Mendota or Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.
