He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Petersen and Marzella Petersen (Willis); his brothers, James Petersen, Bill Petersen, Phil Petersen, Darrel Petersen and Marty Petersen; his sister-in-law Sue Petersen; his in-laws, Bruce and Pauline VanHouten; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald VanHouten and Dale VanHouten.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce VanHouten of Louisville, Illinois; his son Ryan (Jody Petersen) of Effingham, Illinois; his grandchildren, Tyler, Macy, Colin and Blake Petersen; his brother Allan of Louisville, Illinois; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Petersen of Corbin, Karen Petersen of Rushville, Loletta Petersen of Mason, Terri Hillyer (Leon) of Effingham and Rosie VanHouten of Chenoa, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Larry's memory to either the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted through the funeral home.
