He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Bonnie Howard (Jones); his wife Marylee Ann McKinney; and his son Dennis Howard. He is survived by: his sons, Ronald Kent Howard, Jr. of Litchfield, IL and Brian L. Howard (Dianna) of Litchfield, IL; his sister Donna Schmelter of Litchfield, IL; and his grandchildren, Brian, Levi and Victoria Howard.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
