It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Herman O. Helgen of Litchfield, Illinois, who passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Herman and Hulda Marie Helgen (Bentlage); his daughter Shari Lynn Helgen-Huntley; and his sister-in-law Susanna Ruth Helgen (Simpson). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jean Niemann; and his sons, Michael Helgen (Rebecca) of Litchfield and Jeffrey Helgen of Litchfield.

The family suggests memorials to the Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School.
