He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harry Laird and Velma Laird (McGown); and his son Joseph. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Niehaus; his daughters, Debbie Wendel of Litchfield and Jamie Stitt (Jim) of Litchfield; his grandchildren, Chad Sikorski, Joshua Fenton (Lainey), Mika Moss, Brett Laird, Brian Laird, Brittany Ronco (Josh), Megan Olson and Ashley Wichmann (Parker); his stepgrandchildren, Ryan Stitt, Emily Stitt and Liam Hires; his great grandchildren, Marah Fenton, Westin Fenton, Brayden Ronco, Bentley Ronco and Payton Ronco; his daughter-in-law Susan Laird (Barney); and his sisters, Betty Buske and Dolores "Dodie" Bandy.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Litchfield Athletic Program or to the Litchfield Park District.
