He was predeceased by: his parents, Ace Ware, Jr. and Delores Powell Ware; his brother Marvin; and his daughter Pamela. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Leatha P. Ware; his daughters, Lolita King (Steve) and Alicia Delorace Cook (John); and his siblings, Dana Ware (Linda), Wayne Ware, Janet Maples, Jeanne Sax, Brenda Gary, Sharon Harbin (Walter) and Candace Chin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He has been an active member of the NAACP, Urban League, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), DuPage Federation, and The R.E.A.C.H Food Pantry and advised minority students at College of DuPage.
