He is survived by: his wife Jane Mae; his siblings, Clarence Melton, Mary Caesar (Farrell), Odis Melton (Mary Ann), Richard Melton, Rita Pannier (Mary Zellerman), Joseph Melton (Lisa) and Tonya Dehn; his siblings-in-law, Ronald Barberis and Kim Lougeay; and his goddaughters, Vanessa Malecki (D. J.), Jackie Ditty (Chris) and Keri Edgington (Damien). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Clare Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society.
