He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurel L. Yates and Neva Marie Yates (Ritter); his brother-in-law John Hancock; and his sisters, Phyllis Gray and Patricia Jamison (Ronnie Jamison).
He is survived by: his wife Marie Yates of Kinmundy; his sons, James Yates (Jennifer) of West Frankfort and Mark Lee Scribner (Tina) of Kinmundy; and his sisters, Sandra Hancock of Salem, Sharon Cash (Bill) of Iuka, Rita Neaville (Danny) of Iuka, Tracie Fisk of Iuka and Brenda Mount (Keith) of Kinmundy. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
Due to health concerns related to COVID-19, it is recommended that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kinmundy/Alma EMT's.
