He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil C. Hetzel and Maude A. Hetzel (Ray); his wife Bonnie Turner; his son Douglas Hetzel; his grandson Justin Mundy; and his siblings, William June Hetzel, Berniece Woolsey and Tessie Mottaz.
He is survived by: his daughter Paula Hetzel (Liz Esch) of Beaufort; his grandchildren, Shannon (Andrew Thomas), Shaniece (Patrick Harrington), Jason (Hailey Hetzel), Ethan Hetzel of Maryville, Bella Hetzel Esch of Beaufort and Matthew Mundy of Oregon; his great grandchildren, Shaylee Harrington, Paige Harrington, Mariah Harrington, Bryan Bowker and Matthew Szatkowski; his daughters-in-law, Mary Ann Hetzel of Alton and Karen Cobetto of Dow; his sisters, Pauline Whitlock of Jerseyville and Marie of Jerseyville; and his brother-in-law Robert Shanks of Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the Kane Cemetery.
