He was predeceased by: his parents, William Franklin and Arma Artilean Dixon (Johnson); his wife Paulette Raye Price; his children, Richard Dixon and Barbara Dixon; his siblings, Bill, Henry Dixon, Norma Dockins, Jeannie Owens and Peggy Seavert; and his grandson Shawn Dixon.

He is survived by: his sons, Tom Dixon (Ammisty) of Hurst, Bill Dixon (Melinda) of Johnston City and Paul Dixon of Johnston City; and his siblings, Bob Dixon of Thompsonville, Mike Dixon (Bonnie) of Herrin, Deloris Wilmore of West Frankfort, Nancy Mangrum of Marion, Lillian "Tootsie" Thompson (Marvin) of Orient, Martha McCraven (Joe) of Jonesboro, Thelma Griffon of West Frankfort and Marya McLean (Leon) of Jonesboro. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
