He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur F. Dirks and Ercell Dirks (Janssen); his brothers, John William Dirks and George Dirks; and his stepmother Cora Jean Dirks.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew Dirks (Brandy) of Gillespie, IL, Neil Dirks of Litchfield, IL and Emily Zumwalt (Chad) of Gillespie, IL; and his brother Larry Dirks (Barb) of Petersburg, IL.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
