He was predeceased by: his father Ward Smidl. He is survived by: his mother Edith Smidl; his siblings, Susan Dickey (Scott), David Smidl (Krista), Douglas Smidl (Alanna) and Sarah Nevius (Chad); and his nephews, Jill (Shane), Thomas (Courtney), Kate, Libby, Ashley (Tony), Jennifer, Greg (Kim), Jackson and Jana.
Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 18th at 9:00am followed by Celebration of Life at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church 123 North Plum Grove Road, Palatine, IL 60067 In lieu of flowers, donations accepted to, MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation, Inc., 7420 S Co Ln Rd, Ste 8, Burr Ridge, IL 60527, and/or First United Methodist Church, 123 N Plum Grove Rd, Palatine, IL.
