He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor H. Ritter and Luella Ritter (Martin); his former wife Carolyn "Sis" Marlo; his brother Carl "Corky" Ritter; and his stepdaughters, Terri Boner and Veronica Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Sterr (Marty) of Downers Grove, IL, Eric Ritter of Herrin, Paula Siefert of Herrin and Beth Kerley (Scott) of Herrin; his stepchildren, Marla Reed (George) of Carterville and Michael Crain (Kerry) of Punta Gorda; his grandchildren, Caty, Caroline, Andy, Benjamin, Michael, Claire, Christin, Austin, Wyatt, Amber, Ashley, Jason, Stephanie, Erick, Brittany, Andrea and Tia; his great grandchildren, Lynlee, Addison, Logan, Amelia, Khloe, Kylie and Isaac; his sister Barbara; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Brock of Du Quoin and Chris Ritter-Gauvain of Waterloo, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
