He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendall Moffatt and Agnes Moffatt (Booth); his son Tim Moffatt; his sister Georgia; and his brother-in-law Don Gramlich.

He is survived by: his children, Dan Moffatt (Greg Moffatt) of Lincoln and Julie Ellison (Brad) of Sesser; his daughter-in-law Kathy Moffatt of Herrin; his grandchildren, Jordan Moffatt (Anna), Quinn Moffatt, Ryan Moffatt (Karen), Melissa Foster (Colton) and Justin Moffatt (Charity); and his brothers, Tom Moffatt (Mary) of Grant Park and Brad Moffatt (Mary) of Arizona. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Charles was like a brother and mentor to my family and I; at the Christian Life Church of Homer Glen, IL. (CLC HG on You Tube) I have known him since 1990; when the church was called the First Apostolic Church of Lockport. Together we took the bus into the housing projects to bring children and families to church. We would go to visit the families; and together with others; we would serve the community, the congregation, and the other leadership at the church. Charles loved God, and his family.”
