She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert K. Wemhoner and Jeannetta Wemhoner (Staaf); her husband Lester Oran "Les" Sparrow; her brother Raymond; and her sons, Terry Lynn and Gaylen K. Sparrow.
She is survived by: her son Carson Sparrow (Carol) of Lafayette, Louisiana; and her daughters-in-law, Karen and Betty. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in memory of Laurene.
