He was predeceased by: his parents, Ione Lampitt and John Eckard; and his brother Paul. He is survived by: his former wife Rochelle Price; his children, Duane Eckard (Peggy) of Loves Park, IL, Wendy Eckard of Grayslake, IL, Mark Eckard (Sue) of Bensenville, IL and Dawn Ebbing (Jeff) of Burlington, IA; his siblings, Frank Eckard (Ouida), Ralph Eckard (late Barbara) and Frances Levant (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Steve Eckard, Tracey Thompson, Christine Werdan, Katherine Werdan, Wesley Werdan, Candice Grossman, Christopher Eckard, Ryan Eckard, Jefferson Ebbing, Hannah Ebbing and Elizabeth Ebbing. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
The Family joined in prayer at 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made in John's name to Great River Hospice House.
