She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Thornton and Lola Thornton; her former spouse Leslie Jerrell; her husband Jess Gerard; and her brothers, Ray Thornton, Eugene Thornton, Wilburn Thornton and Billy Thornton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Pflasterer (Al) of Centralia, IL and Faye Ross (Bob); her granddaughters, Robin Ross of Boliver, MO, Amy Bauer (Jayson) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Jennifer Keene (Brad) of Collinsville, IL, Jill Ceretto (Michael) of Collinsville, IL and Carrie Green (Jason) of Centralia, IL; her sister Karen Walls of Mt. Vernon, IL; and her sister-in-law Patty Thornton of Rushville, IL. She is also survived by Twelve great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations will be accepted at the funeral home for Sterling Baptist Church.
