He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Kurth and Janet Kurth (Brizzolara); and his brother Stephen. He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Thompson); his children, David of Chicago, Dana Christensen (Jeff) of Geneva, Drew (Dianne) and Dean of New York; and his grandchildren, Reiss, Jace Christensen, Evan, Katie and Alex Kurth. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
