It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Michael Hobbs of Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. "Pete" Hobbs and Helen Rebecca Hobbs (Kearns); and his cousin Kathy Karns. He is survived by: his wife Joan Thorngren; and his cousins, Steve Hughes, Christine Morris and Mary Jo Strader.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carl Sandburg Historic Site Association.
