He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward and Mary Louise Billups (Stickle); and his stepfather Stanley Courtright. He is survived by: his adoptive mother Grace Courtright of Galesburg; and his siblings, Stephan Billups of Rockton, John Billups of Tomball, Texas and Deborah Courtright of Peoria, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Galesburg High School Athletic Department.
