She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton E. Sr. Heilemeier and Betty J. Heilemeier (Sigafus); and her sisters, Margaret Larson and Shirley Kraai. She is survived by: her husband Donald Buckwalter; her children, Jay Randall and Lisa Randall; and her siblings, Pamela Schwartz (Steve), Allan Heilemeier (Brenda) and Clayton Heilemeier (Sue). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established in Rosemary's memory.
